High level concept

The P1 Query and View System allows site managers to build pages that present structured list of content either coming from the site itself or from external data sources.

The view system can be used to create content grids, listings, search features, or other navigational elements.

It enables querying internal site content based on the page types or external remote data source (like a headless e-commerce system, an existing datasource or any API really) based on standard API integration.

Data source management

With P1, site managers can define and configure data sources.
Data sources can be of different types:

Data source from site content

Managed directly in the P1 website using page templates, these are collections of pages of a specific content type. P1 automatically creates a data source when a page template is created and this data source can be used to query and view all content of that type.

Remote data sources

P1 allows for rendering and presenting on a website content created and managed in a remote system such as a headless CMS system, a PIM system, an e-Commerce headless system or possibly any structured data remote API; as long as the API can be queried and can deliver content in a structured way using JSON. P1 ships with some standard example and any coding agent can simply use them to let your developer quickly create new data sources.

Content Publisher document collections

Content Publisher works similarly as a remote data source, with a simplified integration when it comes to authentication and access control. The Content Publisher SDK ships with P1 SDK and the only configuration required is to configure collection ID and token.

Once data sources are created and activated, P1 is ready to pull content from these data sources and render it on templated pages.
