P1 Architecture 101
Decoupled and API-first, not headless and even less monolithic
P1 is designed for AI but also for composability. All capabilities of P1 are designed as APIs, then exposed to agents through MCP tools and skills, to human users through Web user interfaces and command line interfaces. It’s service oriented (not micro-service oriented but meaningful-service oriented).
The solution is architected around a back-end provided as a service, and a front-end executed on your websites running Pantheon Next.js.

When it comes to enabling content creators to use P1 to create all the things they need for their site to perform, P1 comes with a unique concept that allow both to strongly leverage design systems and shared component libraries, making sure content creators are always staying within the constraints of these, while totally letting them be creative and free thanks to the visual editor: in-place editing, instant preview, and real-time collaboration between the different users.
